Fishing Report Database Help
How do I use the Fishing Report Database?
It's easy! If you want to read reports, you can browse them by state, or search
for reports for a specific body of water. You can also post questions and comments on fishing reports from other anglers.
If you want to submit a fishing report, you fill out a simple form that provides details about where and when you fished, what type of fishing you were doing, what type of fish you were after, the weather, and any details you care to provide.
Events and Maps
We have a library of maps of popular fishing locations. You can link a map to your report and use the map to
mark the location and details of events that occurred during your fishing outing. This feature makes your
fishing reports a powerful visual reference for you and other anglers.
Fishing Stars
You receive acknowledgement for providing fishing reports and helping other anglers with your fishing knowledge!
When you submit fishing reports, a colored star appears next to your name in the report list. The colors of the
stars indicate how many fishing reports you've submitted:
Purple Star: 1 or more fishing reports submitted
Green Star: 10 or more fishing reports submitted
Light Blue Star: 25 or more fishing reports submitted
Dark Blue Star: 50 or more fishing reports submitted
Red Star: 100 or more fishing reports submitted
Black Star: 200 or more fishing reports submitted
Frequently Ask Questions
I don't see a map for a place I fish. Is one available?
We're adding new maps as quickly as possible. If you don't see a map and would like it added, email us with the name of the body of water and the name of a nearby city or town. We'll do our best to get a map created and ready for you to use with your reports.
I made an error in my report. Can I go back and correct it?
The current version of Fishing Reports Database does not allow editing of submitted reports. Future versions will have an edit function. To delete a report, you can email us at Be sure to include the report number you want deleted. Your request must come from the email address entered with the report.
What is the comments section?
Anglers are invited to post comments and questions on reports. If you choose, you can receive notification of
comments by others on your reports via email. This will allow you to respond to questions if you care to do so.
We ask that all contributors follow our simple posting guideline: Treat all contibutors with respect.
Which browser works best with your site?
We try very hard to keep the Fishing Report Database compatible with most major browsers. Because the mapping
aspects of the reports require some specialized handling, we cannot guarantee that any browser will work.
Later versions of Internet Explorer (including AOL) and Netscape Navigator will work. We generally recommend
Internet Explorer 5.0 or later.
I run a fishing-related web site. Can I link to the Fishing Report Database so my visitors can access fishing reports?
Yes.
We want web site publishers to feel free to include the Fishing Report
Database in links, or even as part of their web site. As more anglers
add fishing reports to the database, it enhances everyone's fishing
knowledge.
I have other questions or need additional help. How do I contact you?
Feel free to email us questions, comments, and suggestions
